Demand is growing. Canada can supply.
Accelerate is Canada’s industrial alliance of key actors from mining, batteries, fuel cells, R&D, the public sector, Indigenous interests, labour, vehicle manufacturing and infrastructure. Together, we are building Canada’s Zero Emission Vehicle supply chain and industry to ensure it is a central part of Canada’s future wealth and prosperity.
The world is moving to zero-emission mobility. Canada can lead the way.
Canada’s Opportunity
We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape our industrial future.
Canada’s world-class auto sector, skilled labour force, critical and rare earth mineral potential, innovation leadership, and ESG advantages like clean and renewable energy mean we are positioned to develop a globally competitive Zero Emission Vehicle sector. Together, we can create a Canadian champion industry that involves every region of the country, creates new, high value jobs, fosters cleantech firms and new IP and contributes significantly to Canada’s future prosperity.
Accelerate is a non-partisan and not-for-profit initiative that works with members, partners and collaborators in all sectors of the economy – industry, government, Indigenous interests, labour, and academia – to help develop the tools, relationships and investments that will build and integrate a world-class supply chain and industry for the benefit of all Canadians.

Our Approach
Accelerate’s mission is to make the manufacturing of Zero Emission Vehicles and their components a vital part of Canada’s industrial and economic
future.
Collaborate
Canada’s vehicle sector is more diverse than ever, with companies across Canada and across industrial sectors like mining, manufacturing, battery materials production, recycling and software development active in segments of the Zero Emission Vehicle manufacturing supply chain.
Accelerate collaborates with members and partners in each of these sectors and with governments, Indigenous interests, labour, and academia to develop the tools, relationships and actions to build and integrate a world-class ZEV industry for the benefit of all Canadians.
Shape
Accelerate applies an industrial strategy approach to advancing Canada’s ZEV industry. This includes coordinating across the private sector, and with governments and civil society to define ambitious but achievable objectives for segments of Canada’s ZEV supply chain, and specific, time-bound actions for achieving those objectives.
Central to this work are industry and civil society task forces of Accelerate members and collaborators that convene private sector, public sector, Indigenous, labour and research perspectives. These task forces work to advance Canada’s battery ecosystem, sustainably develop our critical minerals, and strategically transition our manufacturing sector to ensure firm and job growth and skills development.
Mobilize
Domestic and global demand for zero emission mobility will only continue to grow and Canada has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build an important part of our industrial future and to make and sell what the world wants and needs.
But we have to be proactive and develop the strategies and actions that will lead to economic multiplying opportunities across a complete value chain and deliver long-term societal benefits in the form of training, employment and economic reconciliation.
Taking a non-partisan approach, Accelerate mobilizes actors across the supply chain and socializes this opportunity with policy makers, investors, and with Canadians. Together, we are building the will, buy-in and knowledge necessary to make good, informed decisions that will position us for future success and growth.
